Dr doolittle and Farmer Jane had a baby

This was our family a few months before Bonnie
Bonnie a few days after we found her.

This is what our family looks like now.  Notice Sage the Sheltie is a constant.
Its me!  For those of you that dont know I have a tendency to rescue dogs.  Actually a lot of times they just kinda cross my path and I cant help but save them from certain death.  The first one was my sweet Bonnie.  Bonnie joined our family of Mike, Laura, Tatum, Sage and Angel back in early 2009.  June of 2009 Angel our family dog of 11 years died from lung cancer.  She was a heavy second hand smoker.  Anyway Bonny helped me through some really tough stuff.  We were not in a habit of keeping strays, but Bonny made me giggle.  She was so feisty, and a lot of the time seemed to be the only one who understood me.  I know...sad right?  Anyway when we found her it was raining, and icky and she was dirty, and wet.  I looked at Mike and said with my eyes only that we had to rescue that little dog.  Her hair was matted, and nasty, and we had no clue to what kind of dog she was.  We brought her home that night and cleaned her and trimmed her.  She turned out to be a westie.  January of 2010 we had come home from a hockey game and my sweet Bonnie had left us as quietly as she came into our lives.  I think I will see her in heaven. Anyway since then little white dogs have kept coming into my life.  The first one was a little girl who became my moms dog after searching for her home, with no success.  Her name is Taffy. She is a white Schnauzer.  Mom keeps her cut like a westie though, and it makes me miss my Bonnie.  Then the other day a white poodle walked up to Mike and said hello then walked right into the house.  I was able to find his home, and right before that there was a weenie dog...who was adopted through ACS.   Anyway...I dont know why but they keep finding me.  This last week we had 4 dogs in our house.  We have two now...Sage, and Tilly, and we were watching Taffy (moms dog) and Sophie ( and Airedale that belongs to one of by besties who is on vacation) If that wasn't enough I also had my moms birds.  Yes, she is a bird person, and I am okay with that.  I love that she is query enough to have birds to keep her house full of noise.  Shes not one of those creepy bird people that lets the birds eat out of her mouth....yucky yuck.
A better picture of Tilly.  She is our bloodhound, who puts up with all of the kids pulling, and is Mikes best friend. The one to the right is Sophie... The Airedale we are watching for our friends..well a picture of a dog like her.  She is much prettier, and more plump.

I also have a vegi garden.  Mike built it, and the vegis have come.  We have tomaders, cucumbers, jalapenos, corn, carrots, and they are all thriving because of all the awesome fertilizer all the visitors have left.. Thanks Dogs...you Rock!!  Thus I am the love child of Farmer Jane and Dr. Doolittle

Sky diving

When I was 18 I sent myself on a trip to Hawaii.  I decided that jumping out of a plane over the ocean was the next thing that should happen.  I am terrified of heights. Can I express that this is the best stress reliever ever. Lets face it, once your out of the plane, if your gonna die...there's nothing you can do.  The ground is coming one way or another.  I loved it.  It was amazing.  Yesterday I watched as my hubby and besties hubby jumped out over San Marcus Texas.  I wanted to be up there so bad, and its been decided that the wives are gonna go towards the end of the year. I think they had a great time.  The kids were all really happy to see their bright orange and bright green jump suits.  I was just thankful that I got to share it with them.  I recommend you go.  Seriously, its amazing.  We are all gonna die at some point.  Id rather it be something cool like that...right?  I mean...right? The hubbies will probably find everything else to be boring for a while...including...a hem...some things... however they did something that not everyone can say they have done.  For a moment they were free like a bird.  In my husbands case a bird strapped to a man that may or may not have been hitting on him whilst doing summer salts in the air.  They had a blast, and I never mind being around people that love me, so it was all around great.

its a loss

do you ever find yourself staring at the computer looking at pictures of friends that you consider to be of the best?  Today I sat looking at my phone thinking something of the same, but wondering...why dont people call anymore?  What has happened that technology has taken such a toll that we dont pick up the phone to at least hear the voice on the other end that might possibly be saying please love me. I know I can very easily say things are fine, but if they could hear my voice and they know me at all they would know the hurt.  I love that with Mac we have face time, and hey tell...even hey tell you can hear a voice.  You are not some electronic grouping of words that mean very little.  DOnt get me wrong.  The occasional hey there, howdy doody is fine...but as a stay at home mom I yern for adult voices, welcoming, non threatening, loving voices of those around me.  I know its different than others that are around people all day.  However for those of us that stay at home and all we hear is screaming, crying, and the occasional please and thank you we need it.  To those out there that are being caught into the whorwind of the technological world I bid you adue, Ill miss you, because Im gonna hold on to voice, eye to eye, and cards in the mail as long as I can.
